Ongoing training opportunities include tactical, technical, physical, and leadership development. These programs help Soldiers to develop skills for an Army career and beyond.
The Defense Information School, Ft Meade, MD, teaches skills for creating editorial publications, radio programs, and television programs, produces outstanding Public Affairs and Visual Information personnel for the U.S. Department of Defense. Is responsible to grow and sustain a corps of professional organizational communicators who fulfill the communication needs of the military. DINFOS is a component of the Defense Media Activity (DMA).
The Advanced Leader Course (ALC) course focuses on the skills needed to lead squad-and platoon-sized units. It consists of a 90-day online program and a branch-specific resident phase. This course is for you if you've been selected for promotion to Staff Sergeant.

Data scientists are expected to work with analysts to find answers to their questions by applying mathematical reasoning and scripting skills to extract meaning from the agency's large repositories of data. This is a three-year development program that builds an individual data scientist's competency in mathematics, statistics, programming, scripting and analytic reasoning.
This development program helps entry-level intelligence analysts achieve a full spectrum of work role skills. As a part of the IADP, you'll solve difficult technical problems, gather knowledge of targets' communication environments and technologies and provide assessments of target intentions unavailable from other intelligence disciplines.
This program develops individuals who can successfully perform the primary tasks associated with intrusion analysis at a proficient level. The IASDP builds on basic network analysis, computer science and cybersecurity skills by augmenting those skills with intermediate training and organizational tours. The program will train participants to a level at which they will successfully perform complex analyses across different organizations and be technical leaders in the intrusion analysis field.
This program produces the next generation of Radio Frequency (RF) engineering experts at NSA by developing the core skills necessary to maintain and advance our RF capabilities. Through this new law, public law 112-56, other Soldier-to-civilian initiatives took place, such as the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, which the Army implemented through the CSP. The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is an evidence-based family skills training program for high-risk and general population families that is recognized both nationally and internationally. Parents and youth attend weekly SFP skills classes together, learning parenting skills and youth life and refusal skills. They have separate class training for parents and youth the first hour, followed by a joint family practice session the second hour.
Dr. Karol L. Kumpfer developed the original evidence-based SFP 14-session program in 1982 on a National Institute of Drug Abuse grant for substance-abusing parents with children ages 6 to 11 years (SFP6-11). The purpose of the grant was to discover what skills parents needed to keep their kids from using alcohol and drugs.
